# Installation

## Prerequisites

- **Node.js** 18 or later
- **npm** (comes with Node.js) or any compatible package manager

## Install

```sh
npm install -g merfolk-cli
```

This installs the `merfolk` command globally.

## Verify

```sh
merfolk --version
```

You should see the current version number printed to stdout.

## Update

To update to the latest version:

```sh
npm install -g merfolk-cli@latest
```
