Usage

merfolk skills install [flags]

Description

Installs Merfolk’s agent skills into the appropriate directory for your coding agent. Skills teach agents how to help an editor create or update diagrams, use the CLI safely, and return work to the shared workflow for human review.

See the skills overview for what each skill teaches.

Flags

Flag	Description
`--agent <name>`	Target agent (`opencode`, `claude`, `codex`)
`--dir <path>`	Custom installation directory
`--json`	Output result as JSON

Examples

# Install skills for OpenCode
merfolk skills install --agent opencode

# Install to a custom directory
merfolk skills install --dir ~/.agents/skills

# Check what would be installed (JSON output)
merfolk skills install --json

Output

Default output confirms which files were written:

Installed merfolk skill to ~/.config/opencode/skills/merfolk/SKILL.md
Installed merfolk-diagrams skill to ~/.config/opencode/skills/merfolk-diagrams/SKILL.md

Exit codes

Code	Meaning
`0`	Skills installed
`1`	Installation failed (see stderr)
